Nice one

He wrote me an email asking me out on a lunch date. Turns out he only works a few hundred metres from my office so there was no need to feel bad for taking an hour and a half lunch break which is usually the case when having to drive out.

So we met at this great cafe I went to with London last week - Food. Delicious gourmet lunches and traditional salads with a twist. My salad was mouthwatering. The conversation was great. He was a gentleman and offered me the comfy booth couch facing Rokeby so I could people watch. It ended up being quite noisy sitting outside and we ended up sitting on the couch together facing the traffic like one of those love sick couples that couldn’t bare to be sitting opposite one another a metre apart. ICk!

After lunch, we were walking towards our offices and stood on the corner of a busy intersection to say goodbye. I squeezed his arm, and then he leant in for a kiss, then I thought
“Oh shit. I better reciprocate otherwise he’ll feel bad”
so I leant in. But he underestimated how short I was, and I did vice versa. It was such an awkward goodbye kiss and I had to be so quick to respond that I was on one foot going in for the peck on the cheek, but in doing so, I lost my balance and missed his cheek. He scrapped past my cheek and kissed my ear whilst I tried to regain balance and ended up grabbing on to his shoulder to stop me from hitting the pavement. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse… all the cars that were stopped at the traffic lights at the busy intersection got a look, and a car full of young boys honked their horn…

After utter embarrassment and regaining balance, I dusted off his shoulder and said “So… catchya”. Yeah smooth!
